The first edition of International Istanbul Harp Meeting is coming to life in the framework of “In Tune with the Harp!”, bringing together five world-renowned harpists representing five harp traditions. Five harpists, five different harps and five musical traditions come together in the largest harp event organized in Turkey.
We will hear the impressive master of Spanish music, Arianna Savall, with her friends gathered around the harp to perform music from their album “Peiwoh”. The powerful Irish harpist Maire Ni Chathasaigh’s soothing voice will accompany her harp, and Hélène Breschand will give a new dimension to contemporary music with her improvisations. The living legend of French harp playing, Isabelle Moretti, will present classical repertoire, and the biggest master of all early music harpists Andrew Lawrence-King will evoke the delicate sounds of the Baroque era. All five harpists will share their knowledge and experiences with young Turkish harpists in masterclasses and workshops.

Note: The Chris Newman & Maire Ni Chathasaigh concert is free, but reservations are required for participation (Hall reservation can not be filled).
